Pyrography and Paint workshop!~Moving this to the Fall of 2026

This one-day workshop is designed to teach participants the skills needed to create intricate and beautiful designs on wood using pyrography and acrylic paint washes. Cindy will demonstrate the process on live-edge lumber, starting with a simple rendering of winter birch trees, don’t worry if you can’t draw well, no drawing skills are required. The use of burn-through paper for transferring the chickadee pattern will be used and will save time, allowing students opportunity to focus on the layering process and texture techniques. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created a stunning piece of art that showcases their skills in pyro techniques. Intermediate skill level for this class is required.

This is a full one-day class, you will need to have your own professional wood burning equipment and a selection of pens. Most common pens for this project will be the skew, a writing pen and a typical shading pen.

The wood plank, paint, brushes and pre-printed burn through paper will be provided.

This Class will be held Saturday October 17th, 2026 from 10am-4pm

Registration deadline will be October 16 as material preparations are required.
