Silvern Wood Carving Knives

This very impressive, hand-made in America tool line comes to you from Silvern Works LLC. Established in September 2023 by Ken Silvern from upstate New York. His focus is on making unique, handmade knives and a line of carving tools for those who value craftsmanship. The first product is the Silvern Wood Carving collection is this impeccable collection of Knives. All hand made using O1 tool steel, solid hardwood handles, and “micarta”-style bolsters for extra stability. Heat treated in-house, Ensures these knives finish in Rockwell hardness of 60-62. Ken’s aim is to make this a collaborative effort with the wood-carving community, Thus helping folks stay connected to their craft with quality, reliable tools.

Knife Specifics

The knives are 1/16″ thick and vary in length and width depending on the style. Silvern knives are convex ground. All handles measure 5″ in length and around 3/4″ in thickness.

The general use knife is an in-between of a detail knife and a roughing knife. The blade is 1.75″ long. Evidently perfect for most projects and people of all skill levels.

The detail knife is great for carving fine details. The blade is 1″ long. Correspondingly perfect for smaller projects and more advanced carvers.

The roughing knife is perfect for removing material faster. This is due to the longer blade length/width. The blade is 2″ long and about 0.5″ wide. As a result its perfect for larger projects and more advanced carvers.
