Our Basswood Eggs Carving Decorating are commercially made from high quality, kiln dried basswood in the USA.  Therefore, some will require a final sanding if being used for chip carving, wood burning or painting.  We attempt to maintain a 10% moisture content, it makes them easier to carve.  As much as we strive to keep them as clear as possible, sometimes Mother Nature may sneak in a small blemish.  Any blemish will be slight and consequently should either carve-out easily or can be hidden within your burning.
