Gnome Santa ~ Beginner

Come Join us for a Gnome Santa Carving Class!

This one day beginner class is the perfect way to learn for anyone youth to 101. Your instructor on this project class is local to Kitchener Waterloo with 25 years years experience in carving.  Mr. Rick Willfang is a long time customer and friend to Chipping Away and a Local Club member, he is a valued member of the Roseville Carving Club. Rick will share with you the importance of safety, the proper way to hold a knife, create push cuts, pull cuts, stop cuts, all with a single knife.

Tools and supplies required for the class are pretty simple,  a 1-1/2″ detail knife and a carving glove. Chipping Away will supply the basswood.  Painting of the project will not be instructed in the class. Advice will be given on painting if asked. Expect to compete 2 of the Gnome Santa’s as seen in the photo during this class. Completed Project dimensions 1 x 1 x 4″

This Class will be held Saturday November 25, 2023 from 9am-4pm

Registration deadline will be November 16th as material preparations are required.

Max. number of students is 10, space is limited.
