Woodcarving Riffler Files and rasps are perfect for quickly carving & shaping difficult to reach areas and therefore fill a real need for carvers.
Our Medium-Coarse Rifflers are double ended. Both ends are bent and can be used. “File” Rifflers however are flat and used at one end only.
Files, rasps and rifflers allow you to shape and smooth wood with much greater control than normal edge cutting tools. Rasps have individually raised teeth. Files have straight chiselled edges and therefore cut more slowly than rasps but give a finer finish. Rifflers are double ended whereas file rifflers cut only at one end.
Our rifflers feature sharp, hand set teeth, forged from properly hardened tool steel (Rc 55). They are tough enough to carve stone! Our sets cover most all carving needs. The coarse rifflers are best for rapid shaping. All leave light scratches that may be easily removed by file rifflers.
