The Deluxe Combination Waterstone #220 side is "Green Carbide" for rapid cutting. The #800 grit side is Aluminum Oxide and removes the scratches left by the #220 grit. For a razor sharp edge, use one of our finish stones. These stones are mounted on a high impact plastic base.
Their size is 7- 1/8" x 2- 7/16" x 1".

Our waterstones are manufactured from a variety of fused abrasives which create a porous, friable surface. This is important since, as the tool is rubbed on the stone, the particles of abrasive are rounded and dulled. Unfortunately with oil stones, the particles are tightly bound together, producing a dulled surface which greatly reduces cutting speed. On the other hand, the waterstones' porous, friable surface keeps fresh, sharp abrasive constantly exposed on the surface, thus accelerating and optimizing the cutting effect. Deluxe Combination Waterstones are fired from aluminum oxide abrasive and carefully screened for consistant size mixed into a clay matrix. They will outperform any oil stone. Use the #1000 grit side for coarse sharpening, and the #6000 grit side to give your edges a razor like finish.

Our Blue Ceramic Flattening Stone, is an easy and inexpensive way to flatten any of your waterstones. It is made from #300 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It has 9 diagonal grooves molded into its surface. The grooves facilitate cutting action and allow for waste particles to be removed from the surface. It is 15/16" thick x 2-1/8" wide x 8" long. Instructions are included.

Our Sharpening Stone Holder is spring loaded to easily adjust to any width oil, diamond or water stone that is from 7" to 8" in length. The large rubber ends will securely hold your stone without any possibility of damage to the stone. The rubber feet provide excellent skid resistance to prevent any slippage of the stone during use.
