Chipping Away is delighted with Dennis Moor's (Pop) new chip carving knives. Just when we all believed you simply could not improve such a traditional knife...along comes a new shape that has chip carvers smiling from ear to ear!

These new Moor chip carving knives have innovative handles that are more than ergonomically shaped ~ their profile insure the correct holding position. Molded from superior synthetics, their texture provides a high coefficient of friction (Pop says: "that means they won't slip in your hand!"). A wider throat on the Large Cutting Knife makes it much easier to see the lines you are following as your thumb is kept back out of the way. The marbleized enhancement is purely decorative...and very attractive. They are the most comfortable knives you will ever hold! The blades are made to the same exacting standards as the original Moor knives which have proven so popular. Hardened to a Rockwell 60Hrc means they will hold their edge well. The new "small" cutting knife, has a much larger handle than the original 'small knife'. It is very comfortable for those with small hands, but those with larger hands will appreciate the new size as being easier to hold and control for those delicate tasks. They may be purchased either pre-sharpened or non-sharpened. They come packaged in a clear plastic tube for protection and storage.

The polished rosewood handles are shaped for comfort and grip, and are beveled on the underside to induce the proper 65 cutting angle. SORRY ...BUT ONLY THE LARGE KNIFE IS STILL AVAILABLE ... it is the primary knife used and is suitable for almost all cuts. The large chip knife measures approximately 5" long.

Ron Wells Chip Carving Knife

A new edition to Ron Wells knives (now made by Mike Shipley). It is a little broad and has more metal then necessary but not a bad knife overall. You may want to gring the back of yours down as well as round the back edge so the cuts tight radius easier.

Flexcut Chip Carving Knives
