Our Butternut is priced at $8.00 per board foot.

To figure out the cost of a piece ...
Multiply thickness x width and then the answer by the length you want. Divide this answer by 144 to determine the exact board foot and then mulitiply that bd ft times $8.00.

Example - A block 2" thick x 5" wide x 12" long
would be: 2x5=10 then 10x12=120
120 divided by 144 = 0.833 bd ft
Cost = 0.833 x $8.00 = $6.67

Qualtiy Butternut in 2" thickness

Butternut has been increasing difficult to purchase over the last few years due to the
butternut disease that ravished our trees both south and north of the border. And when
you could find it, the price was way too high for carvers.

Those of you who have carved Butternut before do not need to be convinced of the properties of this
delightful carving wood. Pop had a great opportunity to buy up a quantity of 2" thick Butternut "at the right price".
We milled top and bottom surfaces to expose and defects and then "cut them out"
leaving blemish-free quailty pieces.

Our Butternut is ALL 2" Thick - but the widths vary from 3" wide to 8" wide. We can cut you just about any length you wish.
